Description: These shapefiles represent specific sectors within the emissions inventory developed for the 2016 Air Quality Management Plan. The emissions are for year 2014 and contain emissions from landfills. All data pertains to sources falling within the 1km resolution model domain; and thus may also include sources immediately outside the CoJ municipal boundaries. Emissions from landfills in CoJ (spatially represented as points). Emissions have been derived using the Landfill Gas Emission Model (LandGEM) developed by the US-EPA (https://www.epa.gov/catc/clean-air-technology-center-products#software). Further detailed description, methodology and results may be found in Section 5.10.1 of the AQMP document. Shapefile notes:- All emissions are in ton per annum.- LFG refers to landfill gas.

Description: Emissions from industrial facilities are represented as points with corresponding stack parameters. Facilities outside CoJ municipal boundaries were included for modeling purposes as they may impact the City. Further detailed description, methodology and results may be found in Section 5.8 of the AQMP document. Shapefile notes:- Stack height in meters- Stack diameter in meters- Stack exit temperature in Kelvin- Stack exit velocity in m/s- All emissions in tons per annumEmission sources that were identified are industrial operation that through their process activity that emits pollutants. This process fall under the control of Authorities through being recognise under Air Quality Act Section 21, Air Quality Act Section 23 and City of Johannesburg Air Quality Bylaw.The sources were identified through a walk-through exercise throughout the 7 Regions under the City of Johannesburg; interaction was done by filling of questionnaire or by observing the stacks where access was denied. Location of these facilities and the addresses were captured together with their GPS coordinates.

Description: These shapefile represent specific sectors within the emissions inventory developed for the 2016 Air Quality Management Plan. The emissions are for year 2014 and contain emissions from on road vehicles. All data pertains to sources falling within the 1km resolution model domain; and thus may also include sources immediately outside the CoJ municipal boundaries. Gridded emissions (1km resolution) from on-road vehicles; including public, private and commercial transport. Vehicle speed and kilometres travelled are derived from the Gauteng Strategic Transport Model (tailored for the AQMP) run by CSIR-Built Environment Transport Systems and Operations group. Further detailed description, methodology and results may be found in Section 5.9 of the AQMP document.
